We visited Simonga, a village of 3000, where
we met the head woman and talked briefly
with the school director and librarian.  The
village was in the process of bringing water
to seven separate areas.  The head woman
had the first spigot outside of her residence.
Although Simonga is relatively poor it is not
impoverished and seemed quite successful.
As one of our South African friends said
"African problems require African solutions."
Western perceptions and solutions rarely
work here.
